Flash game techniques (P-2).. Ok, this is the next installment in the first person shooter tutorial. In the last one, you should have made a hand holding a gun, with the cross hair (or sights) moving around with the mouse. Not much fun shooting at a blank screen is it? Anyway now we will be working towards preparing the game for some enemies to shoot. |

Flash game techniques (P-3).. You have to do some modification of the first fla, like adding some more layers to your game, so before anything else, open it up. It may seem like a lot, and if you don't want to, you don't have to, it just separates things, and like I said before, makes it easier to edit or change. If you look at the picture below, you'll see the new layers that need to be added - also you'll notice that the "garbage cans" layer and "enemies behind garbage cans" layer, have been divided into "garbage can 1" then "enemy behind garbage can 1" and "garbage can 2" with "enemy behind garbage can 2". |

Flash game techniques (P-4).. Again, time to open up the old fla. Insert the layers "labels" and "score". The score layer will contain the score and timer, and the labels layer - well, the frame labels. The labels layer is more for easy navigation more than anything else, and it's a good idea to use frame labels when referring to points in your movie, as frame additions and subtractions, won't affect the location you're pointing to. In smaller movies it's not a problem but in larger movies, it can be. Anyway, this is what your layers should look like: |

Flash game techniques (P-5).. I will go through the bullet holes effect, the ricochet effects, and change the way the sound is made for the gun shot. |
